Pragmatic and the University of Brighton have been awarded in the region of £250,000 for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). KTPs aim to link cutting edge academic research with businesses pioneering in their industry. This funding will allow us to welcome a full-time specialist to our team, who’ll work on innovative and business boosting projects with the support of expert academics from the Centre for Secure, Intelligent and Usable Systems at the University of Brighton.
The knowledge transfer will focus on security and new technologies aimed at advancing the capabilities of WordPress in the enterprise space. We want to make sure the technologies we are using are not just the most advanced in the WordPress field, but also in the wider cyber security environment too. Working with the Centre for Secure, Intelligent and Usable Systems will allow us to broaden our horizons and hopefully bring some truly innovative offerings not only to our enterprise clients, but to the WordPress community too.
Since day one, Pragmatic has enjoyed partnerships and projects with local universities. From low carbon campaigns through to hiring 9 graduates from either the University of Brighton or Sussex; it’s a real advantage having two world class universities on our doorstep. It’s worth engaging with your local educational organisations as there are many ways they can support the growth of your business and personal development of your team. KTPs have been around for 40 years and are a fantastic way to forge strong bonds with local universities.
Our search for a recent graduate to join our team as our KTP Digital Security Officer has begun. The advert can be found here: https://jobs.brighton.ac.uk/vacancy.aspx?ref=EG4038-18-430 – be quick, application closes on 29th August 2018.
